Outdoor team experiences designed around what your team needs to achieve

The Lake District is a powerful place to bring people together. But the setting is only part of what makes an outdoor team event work. At SEE Events, we design outdoor team building activities across the Lake District, Cumbria and the North West that are built around the outcome your business needs — not just the activity taking place on the day. That might mean improving communication, strengthening collaboration, building trust, integrating new team members, reconnecting a hybrid team or giving people space to reset away from the pressures of work. From outdoor problem-solving challenges and navigation-based activities to canoeing, country pursuits, raft building, bushcraft and adventure journeys, every experience is shaped around your group, your venue, your objectives and the impact you want to create back in the business. Because when you invest in bringing your people together, the event should do more than get them outside. It should help them work better when they return.

Outdoor team building that carries back Into the business

The best outdoor team building events do more than create a memorable day. They give people a shared experience they can refer back to when they return to work. That might be the moment a group solved a problem together, trusted each other on the water, adapted under pressure, encouraged someone through a challenge or had a conversation that would not have happened in the office. Those are the moments that make outdoor team building valuable. At SEE Events, we design those moments with purpose, so your event supports the way your team communicates, collaborates and performs long after the day is over.

OUR OUTDOOR TEAMBUILDING ACTIVITIES

Every outdoor activity can be enjoyable on the day. The difference is how it is designed. We help you choose the right activity based on what your team needs to achieve — whether that is clearer communication, stronger trust, better collaboration, renewed confidence or a shared experience that brings people together. Explore some of our outdoor team building options below.

Our Adventure Treasure Hunt is a fast-paced outdoor team challenge designed to get people communicating, thinking creatively and working together under time pressure.

Working in teams, participants head out into the local countryside, town or venue surroundings to solve clues, complete tasks and collect evidence along the way.

The format encourages collaboration, problem-solving, decision-making and shared accountability, making it ideal for groups that need to build energy, break down barriers and reconnect outside the usual working environment.

It is competitive, active and memorable — but the real value is in how teams organise themselves, communicate and respond to the challenge together.

Our Lakeland Journey Events experience incudes several adventurous activities and challenges. All of this whilst exploring the stunning scenery and invigorating fresh air of the Lake District.

Activities involve lake canoeing, orienteering on upland fells, foraging and cooking, aquaseiling down local ghylls, and hiking across the lower fells back to your hotel. By following this route, you have the chance to view the Lakes from a truly unique perspective.

All adventures are led by fully experienced instructors, ensuring that everyone feels safe, confident and has a good time!

It is no ordinary day back at School, it’s the annual Sports Day!, and we would like to welcome you  all to the ‘funtacular’, the ‘spectacular’, the ‘fandabidozi’ Sports Day Event!!

At registration ‘students’ will need to prove their skill, agility and sporting prowess in various races, challenges and activities to gain the most ‘house points’.  You will have various opportunities to earn those valuable points by competing in set races and through testing your team skills at various games challenges stationed around the sports field. Bonus Points may also be awarded to the Team displaying exceptional and outstanding qualities in speed, skill, ingenuity, creativity and team participation etc.!

Take a map, a set of clues, global satellite navigation systems and a team of individuals. To complete the course and challenges they must work together to navigate around the urban terrain of the chosen venue and overcome any obstacles.

Your geostashing adventure will involve teams setting the pace on a high-tech treasure hunt using GPS (Global Positioning System). Each team will be given a GPS unit and a set of instructions that will assist in locating the vital coordinates of the goals.

Utilizing the GPS units and team skills, each team collaborates to find control points and markers within the given time.

Head to the water and take part in some enjoyable adventure activities. Experience the exhilarating views and scenery and see the Lake District from a different perspective.

Using 2 person Canadian Open Canoes and after some initial instruction on paddle strokes and water safety you will embark on your scenic paddle around Lake Windermere or local tarn and along the banks of the water. A great opportunity to see the amazing scenery and learn new skills as you head off on your Lakeland journey.

Mid way through your journey you will head to a nearby island or landmark and set up camp in order to prepare and cook your bushcraft snack or afternoon tea.

Participants will have the challenge of setting up camp and coming together to build an open fire to cook ‘wild delicacies’ such as garlic flat breads, pizzas, scones and more; cooked over the (hopefully!) roaring fire. Throughout the session there will be professional tuition and plenty of hands on experience in combination with clearly explained theory offing a fun, exciting and memorable event.

Take a map of the lake, a set of clues, global satellite navigation systems, digital cameras and a group of individuals. To complete the course and team challenge you must work together, navigating around the lake and overcoming any obstacles or challenges along the way.

After an initial briefing and session on open canoeing and GPS navigation, teams will journey around the lake to complete the challenge tasks.

Utilizing the GPS units, cameras and essential team skills, open canoes are used as the team collaborates to find land marks, clues and ‘unusual evidence’; taking in the beautiful scenery along the way.

Prepare for an exhilarating sailing experience aboard our modern, fully skippered, 34-foot yachts.

Leaving from the jetty closest to their hotel on Lake Windermere, teams are introduced to their yacht and skipper before setting sail. With tasks and roles carefully allocated, the ‘crews’ then begin their yacht sailing training.

Once you get to work, enjoy the unbeatable feeling of the wind in the sails. Then – as the yachts race along beautiful Windermere – enjoy the spectacular scenery as you competitively vie for first place!

Create your own raft racing machine! With planning and advice from our expert raft building staff, teams design, build and create their own race-ready raft. Using poles, barrels, ropes and initiative, this is a challenging and exciting activity that promotes teamwork.

Your Lakeland adventure challenge will have teams experiencing a range of outdoor pursuits and extraordinary challenges which will have them all shouting “I’m in the Lake District, get me out of here!”  After an initial briefing, teams will take part in various outdoor challenges such as orienteering and navigation, bush craft and survival skills, food ‘delicacy’ challenges and even wild insect and animal handling!

Teams will have the challenge of setting up a camp including shelter building and learning vital rope work, fire lighting and survival skills.  All activities will be done under the watchful eye of our experienced staff; teams will be scored on various survival skills, abilities and ultimately whether they have got what it takes!
